I am an author, teacher and HCPC-registered music therapist, and I have recently specialised in using the Flash Technique to help people resolve trauma.I also work in a local Hospice and outside of work live on the borders of England and Wales with my wife and two children and enjoy cold water swimming and walking in the mountains. This website is designed to briefly introduce myself and my work as a specialised trauma therapist and to give you a point of contact should you wish to book a free initial online consultation.
About
The Flash Technique is an evidence-based approach originally developed as a preparation for EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy). It is highly effective and, importantly, does not require you to talk in detail about the traumatic event or difficult memory. The process uses a combination of rapid eye blinks, gentle bilateral stimulation (tapping alternately on each side of the body), and positive memory recall to help the brain safely process disturbing or traumatic memories.Any experience from your past that still affects how you feel or behave today can be considered 'traumatic.' It may be something you lived through directly, or something you witnessed. When part of a memory becomes 'stuck', you might find yourself thinking about it repeatedly, avoiding certain activities, or noticing changes in your behaviour, sleep, or overall well-being.As an HCPC-registered music therapist, I often combine tools and techniques from both music and art therapy with the Flash Technique to make sessions as effective and efficient as possible. In many cases, clients experience significant change within a surprisingly small number of sessions.

Testimonials
Kylie came to me having had a very traumatic time in hospital when very young – she was frightened of any medical appointment and wanted to try out the Flash Technique to see if it could help. This is what she said after having two sessions:
Anthony has truly transformed my life, giving me the confidence to advocate for myself and finally feel like an adult. Having struggled with poor mental health for as long as I can remember, I’ve tried countless techniques over the years—often at great expense—but none have been as quick, simple, or gentle as flash therapy. To my surprise, the sessions even felt enjoyable at times; I found myself laughing and smiling in ways I never had during other therapies. The flash technique is straightforward: you focus on something you love while gently tapping alternate sides of your body, and occasionally Anthony guides you to blink rapidly. What makes it so powerful is that you don’t have to confront your trauma directly—something I’ve always found overwhelming. Instead, the process feels safe, approachable, and effective.I am deeply grateful to Anthony for helping me achieve so much in such a short time. His support and this technique have given me a new sense of hope and empowerment.
